Colin Braun is an experienced driver with two professional racing championships to his credit. He has been racing for more than 13 years, and at just 19 years of age, Colin is one of the rising stars in American motor sports. After starting at age 6 in quarter midgets, Colin took to kart racing at 8, competing for six years in Italy, Monaco, England, France and Japan. He then transitioned to cars, and won back-to-back championships in the Formula Renault 1600 and the Formula 2000 in the Formula TR series.
Colin Braun career highlights:
- At age 16, Colin was part of Team 16 and drove in the Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona in a Porsche 996 GT3 Cup car with two other 16-year old drivers.
- In 2005, Colin was the youngest Daytona prototype driver in history, driving the Essex Racing Crawford/Ford.
- At age 17, he became the youngest driver in North America to win a major league motor race when he won the Brumos 250 at Daytona International Speedway, driving for Krohn Racing in the Grand Am Rolex Daytona Prototype series.
- Colin went on to win a second race at Barber Motorsports Park, and take pole position at that same race, ending fourth in 2006 Rolex drivers points, despite missing three races due to tobacco age restrictions.
- At age 18, Colin became the youngest driver in history to stand on the podium at the famed 24 Hours of LeMans when he finished second, driving a factory Ferrari-supported F430 GT2 car.
- In June 2007, Colin signed a long-term contract with Roush Fenway Racing and Ford Racing to drive in the NASCAR Truck Series in 2008 with Con-way Freight as the primary sponsor.
