Fast Facts - Michigan
FAST FACTS: -The Con-way Freight team will be racing chassis RK-45 at Michigan. It last ran at Lowe's in May when Braun finished 15th. -This weekend Con-way Freight will run a special 25th anniversary logo on the truck since their headquarters are located in nearby Ann Arbor, Mich. In business since 1983, Con-way currently employs over 20,000 people in North America. -Braun continues to lead in the Raybestos Rookie standings. He now has an 11-point lead over second-place driver Justin Marks. -Braun remains 14th in the overall driver point standings, and is only 95 points out of 10th place. He has one top-five and three top-10 finishes this season. Colin Braun on racing at Michigan: "Michigan looks like a great track. From the races I've watched, and everyone I've talked to about it, there is plenty of room for racing because it's such a wide track. It's also a track where handling is very important because it's so fast. If the leaders pull away from you it's hard to catch up without a caution. I had some trouble in Texas last week, so I'm looking to put that behind me and not let that happen again. "We are going to have about 400 Con-way Freight guests at MIS this weekend celebrating their 25th anniversary, so this would be a great race to get my first win." Crew chief Mike Beam on racing at Michigan: "Winning at Michigan is a big deal for everyone on our team. It's kind of like Roush's home track since Roush Industries is up the road in Livonia. It's also home to Ford (Dearborn) and Con-way Freight (Ann Arbor) so I think everyone feels some added pressure to do well. We do our best every weekend, but getting a win up there would really mean a lot to all of us." |
