Fast Facts - Martinsville
Fast Facts:
-Braun will be racing chassis RK-39 at Martinsville. It last raced at ORP in July 2007 when Travis Kvapil finished third in it. Braun also tested this truck at Martinsville two weeks ago. -Braun has one prior start at Martinsville. He finished 34th in the truck race last fall after a flat tire sent him into the wall. -Braun just competed in his second-career Nationwide Series race last weekend at Nashville where he brought home a 15th-place finish. He will also run the NNS race at Mexico City on April 20. -Braun is currently 23rd in the point standings, but only 89 points out of 10th place. -Braun is fourth in the Raybestos Rookie standings, but only six points out of first. Quoting Colin Braun:"I am really happy with the test we had at Martinsville a few weeks ago. We ran a lot of laps and I was able to run around some veterans which was helpful for me. Not only could I see how they got through the corners, but it also helped us compare our truck to theirs. The test gave me a lot of confidence that we have a truck that is going to be really fast and it will drive well. Now I can focus more on the race, and the driving part will take care of itself with a fast, competitive truck. Hopefully this race will turn out better than the last truck race I ran there last fall in my very first start." Quoting Mike Beam: "We had a really good test at Martinsville and I feel we are ready for the race. This is a pretty good short-track truck, and Colin ran a bunch of laps during the two-day test so he's pretty familiar with the track now. He also has a bit more experience there since he ran the truck race there last fall. All those factors should work in our favor this weekend." |
