It last ran at Bristol in 2007 where Danny O'Quinn drove it to a 10th-place finish. -Braun has no prior starts at Mansfield, but this is not his first short track race. He placed 14th at Martinsville earlier this year, and also ran the Nationwide race at Memphis in 2007. -Braun continues to lead in the Raybestos Rookie standings. He now has an eight-point lead. -Braun is currently 16th in the overall point standings, but is only 64 points out of 10th place. Colin Braun on racing at Mansfield:"I've never been to Mansfield, but I've heard a lot about it. I think self-preservation might be the goal for the weekend there. I ran the Nationwide race at Memphis last year where they had 25 cautions for 117 laps so I'm familiar with the beating and banging on short tracks. Unfortunately I was in some of the cautions in that race, but this weekend I hope to stay up front, stay out of trouble and literally keep my nose clean. Qualifying will be important so you can start up front and avoid the inevitable mid-pack wrecks." Crew chief Mike Beam on racing at Mansfield: "Colin did a heck of a job at Martinsville back in March, so I expect him to do well at Mansfield too. We need to do our job in the pits to keep him up front and out of trouble. Bobby (Hudson, spotter) and I will both be reminding him to be patient throughout the race. It's a long race when you are trying to keep the fenders on it for 250 laps." |
